We’ve just made it much easier to contribute interesting links or blogs about your neighborhood to outside.in. In our first iteration, you could suggest an interesting story –from a local blogger or a city paper or any other online source — but we were vetting those contributions before they went live on the site. As of this week, we’ve eliminated that filter: you can suggest a link or a blog and it will immediately appear on the site.
Also, for most of the cities we’re covering, you’ll start seeing “Top Stories” listed in the dashboard on the left. These are popular stories from the entire metropolitan area, not just the specific neighborhood you might be zoomed in on.
We’ve got much more in the pipeline, but we want to hear from you. What’s working well for you with the site right now? What needs fixing? What tools would you like to see added to the mix? We’re wrestling with what should be on the welcome screen that new users first encounter — any thoughts on that?
